Standridge Color opened the poly extrusion coating division in 2017. Standridge Paper Coating (SPC) began by offering poly coated LDPE, HDPE, and PLA coated board to folding carton and cup converters. Since 2017, SPC has grown from an annual capacity of 18,000 tons of extrusion coating produced in one 40,000 sq. ft. facility, to an annual capacity of 24,000 tons extrusion coating capacity housed in 140,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and warehouse space. In the fall of 2023 Standridge Paper Coating added a new state-of-the-art double bump rod coater. With enhanced drying capabilities and the ability to apply aqueous coatings with "two" bumps in a single pass, SPC now offers several new coating options for folding carton and box converters. These aqueous coating options include re-pulpable, recyclable, oven-able, compostable, and are approved for food contact applications.
